In 2001, the Mount Olive Historical Society signed a
99-year lease with Christine and Lippman Aaron Long Jr. for the use of
their house at 137 East Main Street as the museum. The museum was named after his great-uncle, David John Aaron.
Mount Olive has a long and riveting history. As we take a
step back come look at the start of the town's historic beginning from the 1800s all the way to the present day 2000s.
The Society was founded on September 8, 1997. The goals of
the Society are to discover, preserve, and spread the history of Mount Olive and the surrounding areas.
At our exhibitions there are plenty of artifacts
that date from the 1800s to the present day. We have online exhibits and a
lot more in person so come check out the different exhibits we have to offer.
